Community Recycle Days

Thurston County’s Community Recycle Days offer an easy way to recycle a variety of household items at reduced rates.

The next Community Recycle Days will be held:

  • Saturday, May 30, 2009
    • Thurston County Fairgrounds, Lacey
 
    • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 6, 2009
    • South Sound Speedway, Tenino
 
    • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Items Accepted at Recycle Days

Tires — passenger vehicles, without rim $2 each
Tires — passenger vehicles, with rim $3 each
Tires — truck and tractor, without rim $6 each
Tires — truck and tractor, with rim $10 each
Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners (max. 4 per vehicle) $20 each
Microwaves, copiers $10 each
Stoves, washers, dryers, hot water tanks, fax machines, printers, scanners, stereo systems, CD & DVD players, VCRs, radios, speakers (no dishwashers accepted) $5 each
Phones — all types $3 each
Scrap metal (including de-valved propane tanks) FREE
Televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, keyboards, computer mice, printed circuit boards FREE
Power tools, push or riding lawn mowers, bicycles, small gas motors (including chain saw, gas weed trimmer, outboard boat motor) FREE
Goodwill donations (small furniture, clothes, working small kitchen appliances, kitchenware) FREE
Flower pots (2-gallon or larger, clean and unbroken) FREE

Anyone who owns a dog knows how frustrating picking up dog poop can be. It is all too common for pet owners to ignore the fact that it’s even there, thinking it will just break down, and eventually go away. Some pet owners even shovel the poop into flower beds, using it as a fertilizer, or watering it into the soil.
